In this art class, you will learn the process of making handmade paper from natural mushrooms. We will discuss the work of Miriam C. Rice, the American artist known for her exploration of mushrooms for natural pigment dyes and paper making as we enjoy warm mushroom chai. Using a traditional deckle and mould, we will create and press our fibrous polypore pulp into delicately beautiful sheets of paper.

Bring your honey or your friend for a night making handmade gnocchi pasta. Each attendee will receive one of our custom handmade gnocchi boards to use in class as we make pasta together and take it home to keep enjoying for years to come (made by shop owner and woodworker, Aaron Lusteg). Attendees will have the choice to make a regular potato or sweet potato gnocchi pasta. After rolling out our gnocchis, we will cook our pasta in class and enjoy the meal together. Homemade pesto and cashew Alfredo will be provided along with a seasonal side vegetable dish, fresh bread, and wine.

Children can sew too! This workshop aims to share the lost skill and old love of sewing with our children today. Children will each receive a stitch kit including a sewing pattern, felt fabric, cotton filling, embroidery thread, and beginner needle. We will learn together how to cut a pattern, fill, and sew together an adorable plush toy.

Join us for a colorful afternoon, creating beeswax crayons and melted wax art. Using natural beeswax and plant based pigments, children will create a variety of uniquely colored crayons, safe for children (and the planet). While we wait for those to set, we will create melted wax art using crayon shavings, wax paper, and an iron (operated by the instructor).

Ideal for Adults - Teens welcome to participate

Woodworker, Aaron Lusteg, will guide you through the process of hand carving as you create your own cooking Utensil in this two-hour course. Participants will be provided with a blank piece of wood in natural walnut or cherry, a set of quality carving tools, sandpaper, and finishing oil. With example utensils for inspiration and Aaron’s guidance, individuals will be able to create a one of a kind spatula or spoon to use for years to come.

We will create a natural seed feeder together in class using pinecones, seed butter, and bird seed. Join us for an afternoon making heirloom salt dough ornaments. Simple and heartfelt, salt dough ornaments are a timeless craft to memorialize those tiny hands and feet you cherish.

We will make the dough together in class with a variety of shapes to choose from (hand prints encouraged)! Once finished, you may take home your ornaments to air dry (or bake) and can paint at home if desired. That said, we will also provide a number of pre-baked shapes and paint, ready if kiddos would like to paint with us and take home that day!
